Special Events
There is a lot going on, and every month there are several very special events. They are special because they are just a whole lot of fun. Plan your vacation around one of these events for a great North Idaho experience.

January
Sandpoint Winter Carnival - There are multiple activities during this three day event. During the Taste of Sandpoint dishes are prepared by all the local restaurants that you can sample. Schweitzer hosts the Winter Carnival with fireworks and a torch light parade. Other family fun activities include the K-9 Keg Pull, a bonfire, the Chile Cook Off and Fudge 'O' Rama, the Art Trek, a rail jam and contests.

Banff Mountain Film Festival - Every January Mountain Fever hosts a three day film festival at the Panida Theater. The films are award winning cultural and sports films.
Priest Lake Winterfest - The activities include the snowmobile poker run, snow shoe volleyball, snow sculpture exhibits, vintage sled show, chile cook off and live music. Click here for more information.
February
Sandpoint Mardi Gras - For almost one week the town goes crazy with contests like the poker run, golf scramble, guess the beads and the karaoke and costume contest. Family Day includes activities and contests for the whole family. Local restaurants and pubs offer specials and there is live music at locations all over town.
Outrageous Air Show - Every year Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort hosts this display of aerial acrobatics on the slopes. The event ends with a torch light parade and fireworks. 208-263-9555

Stomp Games - The Stomp Games include ski and snowboard competitions, rail jam events, slopestyle, and boardercross. 208-263-9555
April
Tropical Daze - This is Schweitzer's spring celebration with live music, races and games.
K & K Fishing Derby - Held late April to early May, this is the Lake Pend Oreille Idaho Club's spring fishing derby.

Lost in the '50s Celebration - Sandpoint becomes full of people and hundreds of vintage cars for the parade, car show, a dance concert with favorite 50s performers, live music around town and a lot of partying.
Spring Festival at Priest Lake - During Memorial Week end Priest Lake hosts the Arts and Crafts Fair, the Coolin Fun Run, and the Memorial Day Parade.
June
Schweitzer Summer Celebration - The summer season opens with free lift rides, a BBQ, and family activities. At Schweitzer in the summer you can enjoy the climbing wall, horseback riding, mountain biking and hiking trails, huckleberry picking, live concerts and more.
July
Sandpoint July 4th Celebration - The 4th starts with a large parade through downtown, then live music and fun at City Beach all day. The day ends with a spectacular firework display at 10:00.
Bayview Daze - Bayview hosts a parade and boat parade, a street market, music, food and a great firework display on the closest week end to the 4th.
Sandpoint Wooden Boat Festival - Vintage Wooden boats are displayed along the boardwalk on Sand Creek in downtown Sandpoint.
August
The Festival at Sandpoint - This is the internationally renowned two week long concert series performed at Memorial Field, held under the stars and along the lake. The line up to be announced in May.

The Long Bridge Swim - Don't miss this exciting 1.76 mile race across Lake Pend Oreille at the Long Bridge.
Bonner County Fair and Rodeo - This is a traditional fair with livestock, 4-H auctions, contests and exhibits. There is an exciting rodeo and the fair ends with a demolition derby. 208-263-8414
Arts and Crafts Fair - City Beach is the setting for dozens of booths full of all-original handmade art work. There are also food booths, activities and live entertainment.
September
Idaho Draft Horse and Mule Show - At the northwest's largest draft horse expo, there are draft horse and mule competitions and performances from log skidding to barrel racing. Click Here for more information
Harvest Party - The Pend d'Oreille Winery is host to the annual harvest party with grape stomping, food and wine tasting, winery tours and live music.

Lakedance International Film Festival - The largest international film festival in the inland empire, this festival features dozens of independent films and discusssions. 208-597-0961
Harvestfest - The festival celebrates the end of the summer long Farmers Market with entertainment, booths, arts and crafts.
Priest Lake Classic Car Show - This is a classic car show at Elkins Resort near Nordman on the west side of the lake.

Fall Fishing Derby - The Lake Pend Oreille Idaho Club hosts the fall fishing derby.
Holidays in Sandpoint - There is a tree lighting ceremony followed by store specials and entertainment throughout the Christmas season.
December
Priest River Christmas on Main Street - This is a family fun event held in Priest River.
New Year's Eve Party - A great way to end the year is with the biggest party of the year. Party at Tap's at Schweitzer on New Year's Eve. Get your tickets early.
